Watery Destruction

Water is always beneficial for our living and survival. But not for now as seen in this picture when the devastating typhoon hit the country last weekend. Many were left homeless and lost lives when flooding waters covered most cities in Metro Manila. Such event resulted in total destruction that would take a time for recovery. This is an awakening to us of being responsible to the nature.

Early Off Today

I like the day today. Time is of great favor for me because I do not have many rush deadlines to make in the office. At noon time break, I was able to pay my obligations at the bank. Even though it is month end, things were going on smoothly. Usually at this time there are many transactions and I cannot decide which comes first because most of them are priorities. In mid-afternoon the online system got offline so I waited until the office time-out. I would consider this an early off because I often get out of the office an hour later the 5:00pm off. Great Wednesday!

Perfect Flood in Manila

It was a devastating weekend in Luzon particularly in Metro Manila where a cruel tropical storm Ondoy poured massive rains last Saturday that resulted to floods in almost all areas. Many were left homeless, lost their living and even lost lives. It was a sad weekend as I watched the television. The struggles of people for survival were very desperate and I think this was one of the worst tragedies that happened in the country. These pictures are some of the brief views of the ravages of nature that will be unforgettable in the lives of the victims.
I am thankful that Davao City was not affected by the devastation just like in Manila. Scattered rain showers were experienced over the weekend and can be generally described as a great weather here in the city

Skywatch Friday's Moonlight

Hello Skywatchers! Glad to be Friday again. I was fascinated by the moon one evening and saw the changes it made in the sky. From a white round ball appearance then after few minutes the moon was surrounded by reddish clouds. This is one amazing work of creation.

Disappointingly waiting for approval

I was glad to received an email notification last week regarding the approval of my submitted url in a paying site. In the email stated that I have to agree to the terms and conditions which I did and wait for 5 days for the site instructions. I am a little disappointed since yesterday because I have not received any email yet. It is already over the allowable period. There is no feedback until this moment. So I again re-send my previously sent message thinking that it was not received by the site host. It is disappointing because I had been positive about this and looking forward to start receiving opportunities the soonest time. My other sites are also not receiving opps for two months now and when I check on opportunities it is always in white highlight that the post are for me but taken or sometimes in gray highlight that means it is reserved by other bloggers. Really disappointing... I don't feel like updating my posts on blogs at this time.

Fun Tidbits about Libra

I was born under the sign of Libra and today starts my zodiac month. While browsing online I found this interesting article about the zodiac. You may believe this or not but I just want to share here some fun facts about Libra.

Balance is the keyword for this sign, and when it comes to keeping everything on an even keel, a Libra will lead the pack. Peace loving and judicial, this sign abhors being alone. Partnerships are very important for the Libra, especially those on a personal level. With their winning personalities and cooperative style, they aren't apt to be alone for long!

Friends and Family
Fun loving and willing to help out, the Libra makes an excellent friend. Even though they can be late and indecisive, once they're on the scene, they're ready to go. This flexible sign loves to spend time with friends and family and doesn't hesitate to initiate gatherings. Sociable and suave, Librans naturally draw people to them. They have a way of creating a compelling aura of harmony around them. When it comes to challenges, this balancing sign can see both perspectives in a disagreement, making them excellent problem-solvers. Companionable, they're apt to keep their friends and family busy.

Career and Money
Harmony is the keyword for this sign. For the Libra, maintaining this is of the utmost importance. They can be excellent leaders and will work hard to earn and deserve the privilege. Truth and justice always prevail for Librans as they go about their days. Working with others or in a partnership is ideal for this social sign. Artistic and persuasive, these folks are gifted talkers who do well in any position that provides a platform for them to chat.

Careers that involve justice such as police officer, lawyer, or judge are excellent choices for Libra. They will also succeed at such occupations as diplomat, civil servant, interior decorator, composer, and fashion designer. Group settings pose no challenge for Librans - in fact, the more the merrier. Their strong sense of diplomacy serves well in almost anything they do.

If you go shopping with a Libra, best to plan some extra time! This sign can be terribly indecisive when it comes to purchasing. Balancing their money, however, is a snap for Libra. Keeping a good balance between savings and spending money is a real talent for these folks. Their love of fashion and housewares can see them out and about in stores quite often. One of Libra's favorite pastimes is to shop for someone special.

Love and Sex
Finding the right partner will be a priority in the Libra's life. For those already in a relationship, maintaining the peace and harmony takes center stage. A Libra alone is a sad thing indeed, not to mention unnatural. They need to connect with others. As lovers they are expressive, creative, and balanced. They love to make their partners feel completely and thoroughly satisfied from conversation to lovemaking. Librans' charm and dedication to striking the perfect balance with others makes them wonderful partners.

Each sign has a part of the anatomy attached to it, making this the area of the body that is most sensitive to stimulation. The anatomical areas for Libra are the kidneys, lower back, adrenal glands, and appendix.

Mayweather's Boxing Dominance

The television yesterday was busy and noisy as I watched the telecast of Mayweather-Marquez boxing fight in Las Vegas. Marquez was down on the second round and I was thinking that it would be an early end of the game. Good thing because they were able to finished it until the 12th round. Marquez managed to land a solid right in the second, but Mayweather responded with two lefts, the second of which put Marquez on the canvas. The game was over and Floyd Mayweather Jr. returned with dominant win over Juan Manuel Marquez. That was just a good and fair boxing fight.

Holiday Monday

A great day for the start of this week. It is Monday and happy to spend the day by waking up late in the morning, sipping hot coffe with cream bread & cheese, do laundry and arranging some little mess at home. Today is declared non working holiday in celebration of ed'l fitir (end of Ramadan) of the Islam community. I am supposed to transact payments today for my cousin but the bank is on holiday also in the mall. I have to do it maybe tomorrow then. I am waiting for an email for the approval of my new domain but I haven't received it yet. It would be 5 days waiting period as stated on the first email. I am looking forward for some good news hopefully tomorrow. As for now I have to enjoy this very relaxing day in a very hot weather that feels like summer because tomorrow is another busy day of work.

Think Green with Kangkong

It is Thursday already! One of the special day of the week for me and the time to update about the green of life and living. My post for today is Kangkong (water spinach) that I planted at home's plant box. Kangkong is one of my favorite green leafy vegetable. I already made sinigang (sour broth) and stir fried dishes from these plants. A worth sharing vegetable for today's Thursday.

Fruit of My Day

I was having a hectic work schedule this week and its quite obvious here because there were no post updates for the past days. Anyway, here I am again. I was just happy even though very busy because my client gave me this durian fruit. Durian is one of the fruit in season at this time and this gift just made my day yesterday. I bought this at home and my siblings enjoyed eating the sweet, yellow mushy contents. I can say that durian fruit smells like "hell" but definitely tastes like "heaven". :D

Bird Shots

I got some shots of birds like the eagle and owl on file and while scanning today I enjoy watching their pose while on the branch or in any hard thing as a support where they can curl their claws. As I see these camera shots the birds are perching in similar ways whether facing front or turning back. I think this is the very nature of birds or of any kind or species. It is interesting to watch these wonderful creation of nature that I would like to share here on post.

Remains of Tropical Depression

Some parts of the the country are experiencing floods and landslides brought by the tropical depression that induced heavy monsoon rains. Places affected are mostly in Luzon and Metro Manila. The country is reported to have almost 20 typhoons and storms that annually lash the archipelago. Davao City is just a blessed place because the weather is always favorable to the people. Many places in Luzon are in waters these days but here in the city you can enjoy the bright sunny days since last week. According to the news the moonson rains blew away towards Hongkong already last night. It is sad to see people suffering from the effects of natural disasters. Hoping for good weather in the country on the next coming days.

Half Day of Work

I had so many unattended things the past weeks that I am suppose to do every weekend. Now it is already time to attend to these things. It feels weak and tiring but I have to make a move now. I decided to work on the afternoon today. There were many pendings again on my computer table and some deadlines will be tomorrow. Good thing because the section chief is also absent. Even though I already reported in the later part of the day, I was still able to perform my duties and responsibilities. The output at work that I had this afternoon was doing well just like the regular days.

Superferry 9 Tragedy

It was a sad news this weekend when an inter island passenger ship Superferry 9 sank off Zamboanga Peninsula Sunday morning. When I watched the news on television, most passengers were traumatized and everyone has a story about the tragedy. What amazed me was the story of I think few months old baby that was thrown into the sea and he waited for hours until the rescuers could took him alive from the water. Many concerned agencies are now helping the survivors. There were news that this vessel had been experiencing engine problems but still continued to transport passengers. This is another mishap among the many tragedies in the Philippine sea.

Pool Crown for Bata and Django

I am an avid fan of the country's pride Bata Reyes & Django Bustamante in billiards and I was not able to watched their game on television because I was at work. I just read the news that they regain the world cup crown. You made it! You are two great legends! You survived the difficult games with the two Germans Ralf Souquet and Thorsten Hohmann. Congratulations and good luck on your future games.

September Blooms

Pretty blooms for your day...

Wishing you all a bright and wonderful days for the month of September!

Non Working Day

It's a non-working Monday and a long weekend for everybody. I was able to give time to my clutters over the weekend and also a deserving break from the dizzy and busy days of the past week. My cousin requested me to help him on his late filing of ITR for the year 2008. I spent time over the weekend computing, adding and summing etc. so I can make a draft and email to him for approval. Today I am able to update my two days absent in posting and editing of some assignments. Thanks for this non-working day.

Take off for Skywatch Friday

A nice shot of a chopper during its landing at the park of our village. The take off was very fast that I almost ran with my camera to capture its departure from the ground. A great Friday to all skywatchers. :-)

Discernment for Sen. Noy Aquino

I watched last night on television about the country's political update on the upcoming elections. Sen. Mar Roxas had been very transparent about his bid for the presidential elections next year. His decision to quit for presidency and giving way for Sen. Noy Aquino made national headlines until today. It was a painful decision for Sen. Roxas for quitting his long time ambition seat for Malacanang and also a big challenge for Sen. Aquino if he wants to accept the political party's endorsement for presidential election. The Aquino family is still mourning for the late Pres.Cory and they are still on the process of grieving. Now here comes another decision that their family is facing. I think Sen. Noy really needs to discern whether he wants to accept the challenge or not. He needs to gather his toughts by judging wisely and objectively because managing the current state of the nation is very difficult. The local television news reported this afternoon that Sen.Noy is here in Davao. Maybe he chooses the city as one of the nice place to discern about his plans. Hope you could make a good judgment after considering all the things in your political career. Good luck.

Island Boating for Watery Wednesday

A watery shot of a motorized boat in Samal Island. The boat was in a fast speed during the mid day island tour. Good timing because my brother captured it quickly to fit in the lenses. It would be enjoyable to have an island boat cruise in smooth sailing waves .Enjoy the waters! Happy splashing to all.

It's Already September!

Time just flies fast. Its already September, the 9th month of the year. This month is the start of "ber" months. I arrived at the office early morning and can hear some Christmas songs played over the radio. I often notice that when September comes, days are seem so fast and you would wake up one morning and its already October then November and December. I don't know what lies ahead this month but I just hope that all things in life would just go on smoothly that I could handle and without hassles. I have a good day today and it is the first day of the month. This could be a good start.
