Thankful Thursday

I have not noticed the time until I looked at the calendar and it is already thursday. Mid day of the week, some say it is the most boring day. Well, a week would never be complete without thursday. But there are much more about thursday that i should be glad of. Life in somehow has been favorable to me. Though more of tough times there are still lots of reasons to be thankful---good health, good friends, good weather, time for blogging, time for self, generous spirits, sincere thoughts and encouraging words. Thankfulness is one of the most important habits you can develop and all it takes is a little attention to what is going on around you.
"Give thanks in all circumstances". 1Thessalonians 5:18.

Flowerhorns on Show

This is a variety of fish known as Flowerhorn. It captured my sight during the celebration of Araw ng Davao where there was an "Open Flowerhorn Show,My Humps 6, Battle of Champions" held at People's Park. They looked so cute and fun-filled looking at them while swimming inside the aquarium. It's distinguising and unique looks attracted most of the visitors.I was one of the on-lookers who enjoyed watching these beautiful creatures.

Day of Celebration & Keeping Friendship

Davao City just celebrated the "72nd Araw Ng Dabaw". It was a time of celebration marked by special observance of the cityhood of Davao. 72 years indeed! March 16 was the highlight of the weeklong events like the city parade showcasing the civic, government & non-government organizations that comprises the society. Every group participated on the festivities and that made the celebration something to be proud of. The people got a chance to watched and enjoyed different shows and entertainment because it was declared as a local non-working day.

My friends Myla and Lydia and me was not exempted to get together and joined the fun. We agreed to meet in downtown district and planned where to spend our day. Each of us has our own obligations and responsibilities but still value and keep our friendship. We always try to find time to get together even for a while. There were lots of each others' updates, sharing life struggles and sentiments. After, we strolled at People's Park. This the popular park in the city where you can enjoy seeing beautiful landscapes of flowers and trees, fountains, whishing well, fish pond, water falls, walk ways, cottages, sunken garden and the creative man-made sculptors of eagle, indigenous people and durian dome. Leisure walking in the park was a great way of connecting and updating about each other and a nice change of environment after the usual monotony of our daily lives. Hours of sight-seeing was so tiring so we went to js mall, took a break for some snacks and cold drinks. For such a limited time, we had fun and enjoyed each others' company.
Thanks for this wonderful day and keep up our friendship!

Helpful Tools

There were some repairs lately at home particularly on wooden fixtures. Maybe its due to the wear and tear of the details that needs to be given attention this time and if left undone it could lead to more serious restorations and fixings.
Black & Decker--- this tool consists of 23 piece drilling and screw driving set ideal for metal, wood and screwdriving. It is user friendly, easy to assemble and fit for every repair details.Swiss Army Knife --- this multi-purpose knife is also very serviceable. It consists of screwdrivers(starscrew/flatscrew), 3 kinds of shaped knives, can opener,nail/screw guide, toothpick and tweezer. I find this personal tool a must and a necessity. Don't you know that this was the tool we used in dismantling the room panels, appliances and cabinets of a retail establishment? Yes, it did a great work!

It is always best to buy quality tools like these. They are always useful assistants.

New credit card

Just recently i received my new credit card from Mastercard. This is a replacement of the previous Visa card that i had which is about to expire this month end due to bank/merchant mergers. I appreciated that the notice arrived earlier so i still have time for the update and activation process. Mastercard offers miles conversion in using the card for flight tickets exclusively with Philippine Airlines. It also has peso-dollar flexibility where you can access for full credit line any where in the world. They make easy and flexible minimum payments and you can get cash fast thru Mastercard ATM's nationwide and worldwide. Since this is considered a new card application, the first year membership fee is free. The credit limit assigned on my account was minimal (personal choice) for better credit management.

A personal credit card can really help in times when you have transactions and you run out of cash. Although i am not the "impulsive buyer" kind, having a credit card takes responsibility and discipline.

Picture taking on weekend

It's weekend again! I decided to just stay at home today. My morning started with fixing some clutters and mess. I was thankful that I woke up early so the household chores were finished before noon time. On mid-afternoon, my brother (Dick Raymund) and I decided to have some photo shots of me using his Canon-S3 camera. While he fixed and arranged the set-up on the living room and kitchen, I was busy for a little dress-up, fixing my hair and putting some little make-up to look nice on shots. Picture taking was time consuming because you have to find the right angles to capture the best exposure as possible.

I enjoyed looking from every capture of my pose.(lol):)
Lots of pictures were taken but I can post just one picture here..:)
That will be reserved for some future posts and profile update here in my blog.
